I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (NIV) Psalm 139:14

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous–how well I know it. (NLT) Psalm 139:14

There are so many confounding labels and marketing campaigns attempting to redefine and label us. Just watch a football game or a reality show, and count the endless comnercials, observe and listen to their messages, can you detect what’s for sale? And be oh so careful because when you decide to go shopping your carts will be filled with items that you hadn’t initially intended on purchasing! The marketing guru’s are very convincing! Print media does a fine job at selling us things, especially our children! We fall prey and before long we have adopted the subliminal advertisers messages. Their techniques are subtle but effective and we tell ourselves that we can’t live with out the electronic gadgets, the food, and the “gear”. Advertising is a billion dollar industry creating slick, sleek, eye catching ads which work tirelessly to  bribe us into believing that we can be better, smarter, thinner and accomplished if we have “their” brand, “their” products and “their” services.

But it’s never free, it costs and there are consequences!  If only we buy the right make-up, the bigger bling, the smart and fashionable furnishings, the expensive perfumes and the correct fiber foods-whatever the day’s hot commodity is, once acquired, then and only then  will we “A-ok” !

But when the rubber meets the road and life’s issues begin to take precedence over the mounting acquisitions of more stuff, and none of it does the trick for addressing our personal and spiritual development. So what does?  What will and can be replaced with our retail therapy, cluttered mindset and desire to have more? I believe I know what can halt the thirst or quench and deliver or parched souls. Possibly it’s an elixir of truth about who’s we are and to whom we belong. You need not spare any of your hard earned dollars, just know that your bill was paid at Calvary.

Jesus did it for us!  There are no price comparisons required or merchandise to be had. Only requirement that you need embrace is a willing heart, a renewed mind and an active search-a knocking if you will, a heartfelt searching! Yes, we need only participate in searching for an everlasting truth! A truth that beckons us to embrace a life sustaining friendship where if we knock God answers.

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

Matthew 7:7  NLT

“Knock and the door will be open.” Try an application of divine love. Love that delivers us and answers to questions that your soul is begging for! The advertisers dare not convey your beloved identity! If they told you, you’d have no need for their stuff, their trinkets, their clothing, their lipsticks, their enhancers and certainly not their footware. Just think of what the Divine desires to share with you regarding your true identity and purpose. Oh my friend, it exceeds the messages we are daily bombarded with. Your are more then adequate in Jesus Christ-triumphant, energized and delievered! Think of what God offers you and yours as a heathy alernative, a Holy Ghost elixir an infilling that will never rust or corrode. Here are several encouraging bible scriptures that will delight your very being! Scriptures that reveal who we are in Christ Jesus and what a King and Lord that is in love with you, thinks of you and me!

Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, He dwells in us

1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 6:19

We are joined in the Lord and am one spirit with Him .1 Corinthians 6:17

God leads us in the triumph and knowledge of Christ . 2 Corinthians 2:14

The hardening of our mind has been removed in Christ . 2 Corinthians 3:14

We are new creatures in Christ . 2 Corinthians 5:17

We have become the righteousness of God in Christ . 2 Corinthians 5:21

Truly it’s personal! And does it ever take work focusing on our personal, spiritual development! But the benefits outway the failed attempts to kill our progress. The benefits indeed are powerfully positive-our generations to come will reap the harvest because we are healthy and generational bondages won’t be able reek havoc. There’s not a thing that the advertisers can sell me that God won’t and can’t provide. But we must seek Him, pray for continued guidance and sustenance! Come on friends let’s stay connected to the tree of life. It’s all in the Bible, the Holy Scriptures!  God reminds us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made! We rejoice in the commitment of our growth!  Thank you Lord for the awakening our spirits, We are who you say we are!

We have been made one with all who are in Christ Jesus .Galatians 3:28

We are no longer a slave but a child of an heir . Galatians 4:7

We have been set free in Christ . Galatians 5:1

We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places . Ephesians 1:3

We are chosen, holy, and blameless before God . Ephesians 1:4

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21 King James Version (KJV)

It’s no accident that my experiencing Bishop Vashti McKenzies’ Praycation set my day in motion. It had a tremendous domino effect. This soul satisfying spiritual retreat with participants from varying locations was compacted into approximately 40 minutes of uplifting prayer, scripture, exhortations and testimonies that provided excellent, yes restorative fuel for life’s ongoing journey. But it truly was an elixir for the day. And it’s virtual to boot! It was by no means a passive experience, but a morning of giving and sharing! The many words spoken quenched my parched soul!

After receiving this spiritual fortification from Praycation, it was no happenstance that I’d be in a discussion with a dear friend on what it means to battle effectively; as folks would say, “Batlin hard!” in spiritual warfare. So there it was a day starting with the tools for acquiring spiritual muscle, followed by a discussion and application of taking that exercised muscle and punching the devil out instead of getting knocked out! But how? Hold on to that question friends. I believe the Holy Ghost will reveal the answer.

Let’s fast forward to Youtube. My dear sister friend urged me to check out Juanita Bynum and Dr. Cindy Trimm as I began deliberately speaking to my trials with authority using “kingdom language.” I listened intently to the videos. It was clear that God had woven a theme throughout my aha moments for that day, and it all seemed to point in the direction of appreciating the significance of words spoken and the impact they have on us-past, present and future.

The word “impactful” not generally used, I feel is the most appropriate-from the very start of the day it was jammed packed with words reverencing God and my having divine authority to speak life into dying circumstances. We are encouraged to fashion our language with affirmations, abandoning a defeatist tone and a smoldering diatribe.

Remember your mother saying, “Watch your mouth?” Well I was a mouthy youngster and sometimes my childish remarks crossed the line and warranted correction. It’s no mystery that well intentioned words shape and color our perplexed lives! It’s a fact that praising God one moment and spewing profanity or cursing another moment will potentially rock our worlds. One remark cancels out the other!

Our world is shaken to the core with words uttered in anguish, words spouted in thanksgiving, words expressed in conviction and yes, words pronounced in declaration! Our presence is important, but our words fuel the course. We are atmosphere changers-it takes words! Yes, these words mark us. They permeate the atmosphere and set us up for eternity. Our children’s, children will know the impact. Words can empower us. Prayerfully we are now transforming our speaking and our thinking. Our thinking is aligned with the realization that God is the source and strength of our lives. These profound words can heal, but more importantly they usher in positive occurrences and improved realities are then manifested.

Ask Dennis Kimbro regarding his success and being the bestseller of : Live Your Dreams, Think and Grow Rich-he’ll tout that in his book: What Makes The Great, Great that prayer is the greatest need. The words of prayer which aide in changing our thoughts to alter our condition! There it is!

Dr. Cindy Trimm

Powerful Prayer !

A psalm of David, regarding a time when David was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. (NLV) Psalm 3:1

Words, words, refreshing words! Speak and declare that “God you are my God! ” Relish in the natural and spiritual benefits of God’s Holy Word. As you break the cycle of negativity, take to heart that God’s word will not return to you void. The more scripture you study, the better inclined you’ll be to embrace transformative language and living. Be encouraged and meditate on all the attributes of a loving Lord and Savior! Dr. Cindy Trimm says folks repeat what they hear. Don’t you love the truth? Change your destiny by changing your language. I have been enthralled with this realization. She inquires and asks the poignant question, “What are you feeding on?” And if I were to piggy back on that thought, my question to you would be: “What dialogues do you entertain with yourself and others? Friends, never mind the grammar, it’s good gospel ain’t it?

Dr. Trimm says, we can download success into our day! So if we get in the mindset that we can decree doom, guess what? It will unfold! Imagine cultivating dread, pandemonium and being assured that and expecting it will springboard and blossom! It’s in our conversations, thinking, and actions! But the flip side is we have the power to manifest positive outcomes, decree and build formidable lives with wonderfully great outcomes. Thank you Holy Ghost I am grasping this now. And Lord knows I want to jump up and down, because emotions have been the ruler over much of my conversations. But, today I am praising God for deliverance! Don’t tell me that listening to sage, anointed advice and reading scripture won’t usher you to higher heights! So here it is friends, if I think better of myself and apply these truths, God will bring it to past!

Transformation is vital for our life and generations to come. We must select our choices. What’s your preference? Living or dying? I entreat you to choose life, it’s on the tip of your tongues. It made sense that Paula White and Cindy Trimm are encouraging us to tape record our conversations! Many of us think that’s ridiculous, but what I am sure Paula’s revelation is really reinforcing us to stop and begin to listen to our own words. These words are spoken often with no regard for the impact that they’ll have on us, our situations and circumstances. So if the words have hindered us and entrapped us, we ought to desire a shift, not to give in to the demonic forces that entrap us!

Let’s begin to break the pattern of negativity! Whatever I bound in heaven and earth is loosed and bound! I must take authority halt victim thinking and fix my thoughts.

As Dr. Trimm says, “Press your ears to the word of God.” Come on and get hungry! Where’s your appetite for God’s truths: that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, created for such a time as this! No every day is not going to be blissful, but there’s no need to sit crouched in the dark room, shades drawn, awaiting the fall!

We aren’t abandoned, but instead blessed and exonerated by His loving kindness and grace. We’re not thrown away-God is faithful. He is our banner, our strong tower, our help, our deliverer! He is Jehovah-nissi (“Jehovah is my banner,” Ex. 17: 15, suggestive of triumph), Jehovah-shalom (“the Lord is peace,” Judges 6: 24), Jehovah-shamah (“Jehovah is present,” Ezek. 48: 35), Jehovah-tisidkenu (“Jehovah is righteous,” Jere. 23: 6), and Jehovah-Jireh (“Jehovah will provide,” Gen. 22: 14).

We can dismantle the architectural design of the enemy! It starts with our speech!

The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45

Audibly speak these words found in Prayer Book by Christian word.org I declare God, the battle is already won. God is removing the enemy. AFFIRMATIONS II*

I declare that my God will take care of the enemy that has come against what God has ordained for me.

I declare that my God is preserving me for what he has ordained for me.

I declare that we have won the Victory!

I believe God has sent His Word and it will not return void.

I declare that God has finally anointed us to do His will.

I declare that God has given us Divine healing and Divine Life.

I expect the Victory that Jesus has won the Victory for us on the cross. God’s Favor and Blessings are on me today.

I expect God’s Mercy and Grace on me today.

I expect God’s Favor on me today.

I expect God to extend my life to the next rapture.

I declare that God is going to give me supernatural increase till the next rapture.

I will live and not die, but declare the Works of the Lord

I declare that God’s Favor is on me, that He has given me His Strength, Wisdom, Blessings, and Peace .

I expect God’s blessings in my life today.

I believe God has given me His Abundant Life.

* A declaration outside the Will of God is witchcraft.

 * Declarations only work if we are in right-standing with the Lord Resource: http://www.christianword.org/prayer_book/PrayersBook10a.pdf

Come on now let’s breathe and worship God for his awakening that his holy presence lives, moves and operates freely in each of us! I must turn my words into ladders, rungs if you will that elevate me to possibility and prosperity thinking, not just for the material benefits but to be a spiritual trailblazer feasting on the knowledge to who I am and allow that spill into empowering language. Decree and declare friends!!!

Blessed In the Rough Times –An Encore Post for Times Like These!

“Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.” saith the Lord.

Psalm 91:14-16

My son phoned from his internship today with that frantic undertone in his voice. My mother instinct kicked in when I heard his voice. He tried to mask it with a cordial “Hi Mom!” but I knew better. Finally we got to the heart of the matter, he needed money for food and I really don’t have to tell you that it was only several days ago that my paycheck was received and now there is little indication in my account that I was even paid. I honored his request the way most of our parents do and sailed to the convenient branch banking location in my neighborhood supermarket to deposit something in his account.

“Thank you Lord God!”

I chatted with my favorite Bank Teller/Manager and after we discussed favorite travel spots, she too got to the heart of the matter- the words fell from her lips, I am sure unrepentantly, that her husband was returning to the Middle East for his third tour of duty. I learned that after I inquired: “Hasn’t he already been?” My heart sank when she shared a faint smile. This smile belied the apparent truth that her heart was very heavy about her husband’s approaching departure date. I promised I’d pray for them.

After leaving the bank/supermarket with a few grocery items that had shot up in price in a week’s time, I just shook my head in amazement. There was one more stop before going home. I drove to my neighborhood Shoe Repair Shop that had not been maintaining their usual business hours. I quickly ran in the shop surprised that the door was ajar and wondered why there had been a sign on the door with the handwritten words Closed for several weeks?

The young proprietor confessed in an apologetic tone that his family was facing difficulty and he now worked elsewhere during the day. He shared that financially they were having difficulty paying their mortgage and his elderly mother now covered the shop. This was a rough patch! Once again I knew well about mortgage woes. But friends what really resonated in my spirit were when the young man said, “But it’s going to be all right I guess!” Without a doubt these are some of the most difficult times that this many people have encountered simultaneously in a while. It feels like more than a pinch, it’s often a strangle hold to stay afloat making a living. Yes, indeed it’s rough-it’s real, it’s personal hardships on an intimate level!

As our elders would utter,” But God!”

But for the love of God!

But for the provision of god!

But for the grace of God!

But for the beauty of God’s word which reminds us that He loves us!

Imagine an abiding love for you-his children. A love not predicated on status, religion or pedigree. No matter the personal attacks, innuendos hurled and/or the tumultuous hardships experienced God’s wonderful supply of protection, grace and mercy is evident. Daily we can abide under His care: His Lordship! Wouldn’t you agree it’s comforting to realize this? His deliverance and most assuredly His love and shelter will protect us even in the rough places.

Hang on friends and take to heart the scripture:

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is [our] my refuge and [our] my fortress [our] my God in who I trust.”

Psalm 91:1, 2

Today friends that’s just what I did, google my name! Try it you’ll be amazed at what awaits you! Then I typed my name in the search box on YouTube to discover my reading , my poem Destiny by Linda Mose Meadows. This reading was at the Word4Word Anniversary celebration at Aroma’s Cafe in Newport News. Generally I enjoy writing devtionals, but since attending the Word4Word Open Mics I thought I’d attempt writing poetry. We were challenged to write about “destiny”. Look out Nikki, I am here!  (Nikki Giovani is one of my favorite poets 🙂 I’m having a wonderful time actively participating in my life friends! I thank God for the wonderful opportunities and celebrations that God brings my way! I pray that you too are embracing your destinies!

by Linda Mose Meadows

Sharing, Hearing what the Divine has pushed her to believe,
Struggling, falling, crawling, leaning, swaying
letting one cane fall softly to the warn carpet
she reaches for her prosthesis

Before long, standing prody and then comfortly moving toward her motorized chair
Destiny, delights in newly acquainted freedom
No containing her for another neighbor’s “dop-in” interrogation

“Energy to spare” is what rolls off wagging, jealous tongues
“She only got one good leg, why the others a stump!”
“She don’t sit still!”
Destiny chuckles in anticipation of
Bumpy, cracked sidewalks,
unaved roads, hard hats and Warning signs!
Secretly it’s a delicious challenege, reborn joy, deep down joy
She whisper,” How great thou art!”

Destny’s mind races
bygone days of dancing halls, reaching for bursting peaches and walking carefree
Kicking up some dust!

She is assured:

“Greater is He that is within me!”
“For I know the plans I have for you!”
“You are not forsaken!”
“Those He foreknew He foreloved!”

Destiny witnesses the bewilderig stares, ghalking, wondering:
“Where she headed?”
Smiling, eyes twinkling
Nods her heart answers,
“I am headed somewhere, the Lord knows!”

“I’m alive, I’m alive!” <>blockquote>
